GRADING POLICY:  There will be 10 exercise sets (75%), a final project (10%) and a final exam (15%).  Exercise sets will allow you to demonstrate that you understand and can appropriately use the material.  They will consist of online quizzes, questions and programming assignments.   The final grade will be determined by the proportion of total points earned.

90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F

EXAMINATION POLICY: It is the responsibility of the student to take all of the exams at the scheduled times, except in very unusual circumstances. If you must miss an exam you must inform me (the instructor) in advance of the reason for your absence and present proof of your excuse. Make sure that I am aware of any memorandum showing that you will be participating in a University sponsored trip.

EXERCISE SETS and ASSIGNMENT POLICY:  Exercise sets are due no later than the specified due date – see the “Competency Score Sheet” for details on scoring for the exercise sets.  Exercise sets that are not group exercise sets are to be individual efforts - that is, each person's exercise set should be uniquely their own. The first exercise set which is found to be a duplicate or near duplicate will receive a grade of 0; the second such exercise set will result in a grade of F for the course.  Exercise sets will be covered on the final exam.  Specific READING ASSIGNMENTS will not be made. It is your responsibility to read the chapters BEFORE they are covered in class, even if no specific reading assignments are made.  See the semester calendar for the course schedule.
